The distinctive features of this 1 to 3 foot tall herb are the zigzag growth pattern
of the smooth stem (angular in cross section) and the rather broad leaves that
taper to a point at both ends. Leaves alternate, sharply toothed and short-stalked.
Flowers in small groups at the upper leaf axils and terminally and each
